After dominating the 125cc and 250cc categories with three consecutive World Championship titles from 2003 to 2005, Dani Pedrosa has become one of the most successful riders in Honda’s history and has achieved more podiums for the Japanese manufacturer than any other rider, with a total of 141. Dani has also shown his great talent in the premier class, and since his second season in MotoGP he has finished in the top four every year. Early in the 2015 season, Pedrosa underwent a successful operation to repair an arm-pump condition, and he ended the year on a high note, winning the Japanese and Malaysian rounds and reaching the milestone of 100 premier-class podiums at the season-closing race in Valencia.

TOP TEN FACTS

The 2016 season marks Pedrosa’s 11th year in the MotoGP class. He has won at least one race in each of his previous ten years in the premier division. Only three other riders have achieved premier-class GP wins in nine or more successive seasons: Mick Doohan, Giacomo Agostini and Valentino Rossi.

Pedrosa has won at least one race in each of the last 14 seasons competing in GP racing, second only to Valentino Rossi.

Pedrosa has 51 GP wins, all of which have came on Honda machinery. Only Doohan has more GP victories for Honda, at 54.

Across all GP classes, Pedrosa has finished on the podium 141 times, the most of any Honda rider.

In 2004, Pedrosa became the youngest rider to win the intermediate-class world title, at the age of 19 years, 18 days.

During his 250cc GP debut at South Africa in 2004, he became the youngest rider to win a 250cc GP race, at 18 years, 202 days.

Pedrosa has taken at least one GP victory at 14 of the circuits on the 2016 GP schedule. The only current venues where he has not earned a GP win are Losail, Termas De Rio Hondo, Austin and Spielberg (a new calendar entry for 2016).

Through the 2015 season, Pedrosa has taken 28 premier-class wins, the most of any Honda rider since the adoption of the MotoGP format in 2002.

Pedrosa’s 165 starts in the MotoGP class are the most of any Honda rider.

In placing third at the 2015 Valencia GP, Pedrosa reached 100 podium finishes in the premier class, a milestone that had previously been achieved only by Valentino Rossi.
